In ancient Egyptian times there were definite social divides which were dictated according to your profession. It is like a social pyramid, at the top was the Pharaoh and at the bottom of course were the pesants. After the pharaoh was the Vizier. He was the Pharaohs most trusted adviser. Next came the High Priests of the temples and the Nobles, who took up administritive positions in the government. Next were the Priests who took care of the many temples, Enginers who were responsible for the building of new temples monuments and tombs, doctors who with their own hierarchy were responsible for the Pharaoh and his people.
